Join us at the Global Partnership Forum on Adolescents (GFA)

The Global Partnership Forum on CSE developed and organised the only session focussed on CSE with partners: FCDO, Fòs Feminista, Plan International, UNESCO, UNFPA, WHO and YLab.

The session was called: Ask us what we need! Youth-led approaches to redefining sexuality education. The session development, contributors and speakers had youth at heart, and they shared very clear messages.

We need our voices included in the development of CSE programmes, and also need sexuality education. Our voices as young people need to be at every table.

CSE is not one size fits all – there are many myths out there. Areas of discussions included minorities, disability, cultures, faith, varied spaces (schools / out of school / prisons etc. etc.) must all be part of the conversation.

CSE is not just about Sex – it’s a curriculum-based process of teaching and learning about the cognitive, emotional, physical and social aspects of sexuality. It aims to equip children and young people with knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that will empower them to: realise their health, well-being and dignity; develop respectful social and sexual relationships; consider how their choices affect their own well-being and that of others; and, understand and ensure the protection of their rights throughout their lives.

CSE is scientifically accurate: based on facts and evidence related to SRH, sexuality and behaviours. – CSE is enabling.
